My Pink Summer

Two eleven page papers, 3 finals, and very very little sleep later... I'm a Senior! So excited that summer has just begun! As I was drowsily thinking about and anticipating all of my plans for the summer, I thought ... what a better way to get excited for summer than being inspired by some of the most lovely pink hues? They are so lovely and dreamy that I can't wait to get up in the morning!... and go to the dentist....????? haha Well, AFTER that I can start enjoying my long summer vacation. Have a fabulous week! Melanie Renee is an up and coming designer from California & the store I work at in Bloomington, B Boutique, sells her awesome line! I got the top one in purple, yellow and white but the others are super cute, too! I wish we would have gotten the bottom one! SO spicy! Check her out!

On a different note, I found these pictures about 2 years ago in Spanish Vogue. My favorite photo shoots are ones with themes of fairytales, Alice in Wonderland, and in gardens. Therefore, when I found these, I couldn't have been happier. Love love love!

I had such a great weekend with one of my best friends and her love at my fave sushi restaurant. Then we met up with Bear & watched her & my's 8th grade band/concert orchestra tape!!! hahaha I laughed so hard my cheeks hurt so badly! I haven't laughed that hard in awhile :-)

Schiff Schiff.. you are gonna have such an amazing time in Liverpool this summer!!! I'm WAY TOO excited for you!

Saying Goodbye is Never Easy..

Today, while I was relaxing at Uber with Sara, she dropped a bomb on me. Rachel Ashwell is closing all of her stores and her website. Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic has been my single favorite store (outside of the 2 I work at) for the past 5 years. She has been the single decorator/designer that I have been completely devoted to. Her elegance and simplicity swept me off my feet from the moment I stepped foot into her store for the first time in Soho. When she told me earlier, it was like the wind was knocked out of me for about a half hour. Needless to say, I was heart-broken and speechless. Everything seemed like it was fine this past summer when I visited the Soho store AND met Rachel. You might think that me being so upset is ridiculous, silly, or materialistic, and you know what?..to some extent, it is. However, whenever I needed inspiration or wanted to escape to a dreamy cloud that was dripping with crystals from juicy chandeliers, I would look to Rachel's interiors and her passion for design. Quoting Domain's (Heidi & Angie's new interior design business) slogan, "love your surroundings," you realize that what is around you really does effect your demeanor, mood, and quality of comfort. All of my friends laugh at me when they hear that I bought another chandelier or I bought another piece of random, old, chippy-white furniture, and I'm used to it. I guess we all have things that make us happy and I think that this is my passion.

It just all seems to be an 'end of an era' type situation. We will miss you, Rachel. I know I will.

Now it's just past midnight and I'm watching Garden State on the couch with Bear. My favorite movie and the love of my life? A very pleasant way to end this beautiful spring day :-)
